DESEO CARMIN plays a sultry fusion of Latin/Flamenco/Funk music -“Spanish music with an edge”. The band has been mostly performing in the Seattle area for the past 5 for years but their music has already transcended borders as far as Latin America where they currently receive radio play at radio stations in Paraguay and Chile. Throughout the years they have performed at several well-known venues and events such as World Rhythm and Folklife Festivals.

Their music has been featured in local radio stations as well as Seattle Channel and KCTS Channel 9’s “Arts Zone”.  They were selected as one of the featured performing artist in the Seattle.gov website and their music featured in “Seattle on Hold”. They are proud to have been nominated for a music award in 2011 at the New Music Seminar Artists on the Verge (AOV) project which takes place in Los Angeles, CA. “AOV” identifies the 100 artists most ready to break each year and it’s a great achievement for DESEO CARMIN to have been nominated to this exclusive list from millions of artists throughout the US.

Marc is an award-winning comedian featured on the Showtime special, Goin’ Native: The American Indian Comedy Slam. Marc has also been seen on the PBS special, Crossing The Line, SiTV’s, The Latino Laugh Festival and Comics Unleashed With Byron Allen. Marc has been heard on Sirius XM Radio, Bob & Tom and NPR. Marc is a founding member of the Pow Wow Comedy Jam, who were honored as North American Indigenous Image Awards’ Comedians of the Year and the National Indian Gaming Association’s Entertainers of the Year.

Marc has performed five times overseas for the troops in the Middle East, Europe and Asia. He won the Ventura Comedy Festival’s Funniest Person Contest in 2012 and is a guest columnist for Indian Country Today Media Network. From clubs & colleges to casinos & corporate events, Marc leaves a trail of laughs that is funny not filthy.

Simon Kaufman has performed at Ott & Murphy several times, bringing exceptional, world-class talent with him every time. Simon is a member of Komodo Comedy Collective, a nationally-recognized group that sets up cross-country gigs for comedy’s biggest names. In addition, Simon is a star who fashions his material from his urban Rainier Beach childhood, family & cross-cultural experiences. Underlining his witty humor is sagely & realistic straight-up common sense.

Award-winning, internationally know guitarist Andre Feriante returns to Ott & Murphy on June 2nd.  The flavor of Italy, Spain, Brazil.. with a hint of the magical beauty of the Northwest.. Andre Feriante’s guitar playing is truly unique and creative. He is a Segovia-trained player who has gone on to develop his own flamenco fusion style blending many influences.  Andre was born in Italy and fell in love the guitar as a teenager in Rome. By the age of 21 he had played concerts in US, Europe and South America. He has been touring for more than 35 years sharing his original compositions with audiences in the Northwest and beyond.
Andre’s program is a mix of flamenco, classical, Brazilian, folk, jazz and original composition. Most recently he has began offering  a multi-instrument show using various guitars, the ukulele, banjo
and the harp guitar. This sound is reflected on his 14th album,  Terra de Eros.
Andre will take you on musical journey in to the beauty of the Mediterranean with his array of guitar sounds, vocals in Italian and a few familiar classics as well. Andre most recently moved to Langley where his is composing new music  and beginning to launch a ‘sound healing’ practice.

Dmitri Matheny has received several prestigious music awards, including “NW Instrumentalist of the Year” in the 2016 Earshot Jazz Golden Ear Awards and “Best New Artist” (with Brad Mehldau, Stefon Harris and Ravi Coltrane) in the 1999 JazzTimes Readers Poll.

Dmitri Matheny is also a prolific composer and lyricist whose published compositions span the jazz, pop, symphonic, choral, chamber and world music genres. He has received premieres and commissions from Meet the Composer, St. Domenic’s Church, the Manhattan New Music Project, the American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), the Jazz Composers Orchestra and 20th Century Forum.

Matheny’s film scoring and soundtrack credits include the PBS documentary Mary, Paradox & Grace (1996), the short film Greenhorn Creek (1997), the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art production Voices & Images of California Art (1997), and the RKO Pictures feature film Shade (2003) starring Gabriel Byrne, Jamie Foxx, Melanie Griffith,Thandie Newton, Sylvester Stallone and Stewart Townsend. Matheny also contributed original music for the horror anthology Trapped Ashes (2006) and the supernatural thriller Fire City (2014).

Matheny’s most ambitious composition to date is Spiritu Sancto, the New Millennium Mass, a monumental sacred work scored for chorus, organ, percussion, brass quintet, jazz ensemble and gospel soloist, Spiritu Sancto received its world premiere on the dawn of the new millennium at St. Domenic’s Cathedral in San Francisco.
